There’s something beautiful about simplicity. As I’ve deepened my practice over the years, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to what many practitioners call “toolless magic”.
Good post! I’ve practiced just saying spells for years. No tools, no alters when I do this. While I do utilize those things, nothing is more powerful for me than to go out into nature and recite my spell (sometimes in my head, sometimes out loud).
I love this! Not only does it deepen our sense of connection with our magic, it also moves us away from excessive consumerism. Intuitively this is how I do most of my magic and I love the idea of referring to it as toolless magic!
Witches of the past wouldn’t have had access or means to most of the ‘tools’ available now and would have used whatever they had on hand, often just intention would be enough. Very much on a par with Terry Pratchett’s notion of witchcraft, that anything, in a pinch, will work.

Love this! No need for all that extra stuff… the magic is within us! 🖤✨
